The MSI Vector 16 HX AI is a premium 16-inch gaming laptop with the latest from Intel and Nvidia. This new gaming laptop packs a lot of power and connectivity into a relatively large body.
As the name suggests, the MSI 16 HX AI features a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1600 and a refresh rate of 240Hz. The IPS panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. Internally, the laptop is powered by Intel’s new Core Ultra 7 255HX or Core Ultra 9 275HX processors. Graphics are handled by the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 (16GB GDDR7) or the RTX 5070 Ti (12GB GDDR7). (Remember, these are the laptop versions of these GPUs.)
The Vector 16 HX AI features two PCIe Gen 5 x4 storage slots for dual NVMe drives and supports up to 96GB of DDR5 SODIMM RAM (via 2 slots). I/O includes two Thunderbolt 5 ports (both supporting DisplayPort and PD 3.1), two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports (10Gbps), an SD card slot, an HDMI 2.1 port (supporting 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz), a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, and a headphone/microphone combo jack.
The laptop has dual 2W speakers and supports WiFi 7 or WiFi 6E via an Intel Killer BE1750 or AX211 wireless card, respectively. These cards also support Bluetooth 5.4 or 5.3, respectively—the Vector 16 HX AI ships with Windows 11 Home or Windows 11 Pro.
The laptop is the same size as its 2024 predecessor, measuring 357x284x28.55mm. So, it’s relatively large for a gaming laptop with a 16-inch display. The 16 HX AI has a 90Wh battery (4-cell, Lithium Polymer) similar to its predecessor. It weighs 2.7kg.

The MSI Raider 18 HX AI gaming laptop is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com and Bhphotovideo.com online e-shops. The starting price is $1,799.99.
According to the listing, the company will release both new gaming laptops on March 27, 2025.
MSI has announced pre-orders and pricing details for several gaming laptops. These include the Raider A18 HX, Raider 18 HX AI, Stealth A18 AI+, and Stealth 18 HX AI. While the Titan 18 HX AI series remains MSI’s flagship, the Vector 16 HX offers high-end specs with minor sacrifices.
