Unboxing

The outer box directly uses recyclable paper box packaging and simple printing. You can see the schematic diagram of the monitor in the middle. It is the Predator e-sports brand under ACER. The model is Predator X32 V2bmiiphx. You can see its features on the side, such as UHD 3840 x 2160 resolution, OLED panel, DPC-P3 99% color gamut, 165Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms fast response time, Delta E< 2 color accuracy, and it has also passed VESA Certified DisplayHDR 400 True Black 400 certification. When opening the screen, remember to lay it flat to reduce the risk of screen breakage, damage from the stand falling off, etc.

All accessories include the monitor, color test report, picture installation guide, warranty card, DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 cables, transformer, and AC power cable.

Screen Protection and Coating

The Acer Predator X32 V2 screen will have a protective film when it leaves the factory. Tear it off after the screen is positioned correctly. The anti-reflective coating on the screen is quite good! You can see that the flash is shining on the screen. The halo is not very spread out, and the slight glare does not affect the visual experience much!

Design and Build

The monitor offers 150 mm of height adjustment, ±20° of swivel to the left and right, and a tilt range from -5 ° to 25°.

The back part uses a thin piece, similar to other QD-OLED screens, and the controller sits in the middle of the screen bracket. An X-shaped carbon fiber pattern decorates the outer box, giving the overall look more visual interest. There are also 16 scales on the bracket, one for each centimeter.

There is also a cable management hole under the bracket, through which signal and power cables can be routed, making the cables look neater and more consistent.

The I/O part is designed directly behind the screen and has two HDMI 2.1 interfaces. On the other side, you can see DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a DC IN power interface.

On-Screen Controls

The control button is in the middle and below, with a five-axis button and two function quick buttons on the left and right. The LED in front is a light indicator, and there will be light indicators for turning the machine on and off and clearing pixels on the screen.

Pressing the control button will bring up four menus: User Settings, Brightness, Signal Input, and Menu. After entering the menu, you will see Game Assistant, Game, Picture, Color, Audio, OSD, System, and Information. There are plenty of settings to tweak, and we’ll explore them in detail in our upcoming Acer Predator X32 V2 review.

OLED Maintenance

Since it is an OLED screen, functions such as image retention refresh, static image maintenance, edge protection, etc., are indispensable to reduce screen burn-in and extend the service life. Remember to turn on image retention refresh in the system. After using it for some time, the screen will have a watermark reminder window. After pressing it, the screen will refresh the pixels, and the indicator light below will flash alternately. Wait for five minutes before using it again!
