JBL introduces the Grip, a compact Bluetooth speaker designed for outdoor adventures with an IP68 rating. The speaker features a small light show and provides up to 14 hours of battery life. It is available in seven different colors.
Just before IFA 2025, JBL is unveiling a new portable Bluetooth speaker, following a series of new headsets unveiled at Gamescom a few days ago.
The JBL Grip packs a compact Bluetooth speaker into an IP68-rated enclosure that resists water, dust, and drops. This makes it ideal for outdoor adventures and easy to transport, thanks in part to the integrated rope hook for attachment. JBL claims to use recycled plastic in its manufacturing process and encloses the product in FSC-certified paper packaging.

JBL specifies an output power of 16 W and promises powerful, distortion-free bass with AI Sound Boost, which optimizes the speaker drivers for dynamic sound through real-time analysis of music. Auracast allows users to connect multiple JBL Grip and other speakers to form a stereo pair or a multi-speaker setup.

An ambient light on the back, whose color and intensity can be customized to each playlist via the JBL Portable app, provides a lighting effect. Inside, there’s a rechargeable battery for up to 12 hours of playback time. This can be extended by another two hours with Playtime Boost.
