Design: Sleek Aggression and the Balancing Act
From the moment you hold it in your hand, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro makes it clear that it’s a phone not for the masses. The Android smartphone has a square, masculine design with flat edges. Our REDMAGIC 10S Pro review unit features a glass back with a faint “see-through” pattern that subtly reveals the internal components. It is not as ostentatious as previous generations, but still noticeable enough to make a difference.
The biggest plus and a welcome change is the rear camera cluster, which is completely flat compared to the back of the device. In a world where camera clusters are increasingly protruding in an “unsightly” way, the flat design of the 10S Pro brings a seamless look and feels extremely comfortable when placed on a table.
However, this design also comes with trade-offs. The flat edges and nearly 230g weight make it somewhat uncomfortable to hold for extended periods. To integrate an active cooling fan and retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, the glass phone is only IP54 water and dust resistant. This means it can only withstand light splashes of water. In return, the unlocked Android smartphone will offer stronger gaming performance, which I will discuss further in the REDMAGIC 10S Pro review article.

However, what truly sets this screen apart is that it has absolutely no flaws, such as a “mole” or a “pill.” The 16MP selfie camera is cleverly hidden under the screen.
The result is a flawless visual experience, perfect for gaming and watching movies. Every frame is rendered in its entirety, without any extraneous detail. The 960Hz touch sampling rate also delivers near-instant response, a considerable advantage in fast-paced games.
REDMAGIC 10S Pro review test
Performance: The Undisputed Champion
This is where the REDMAGIC 10S Pro comes in. Powered by the “Leading Edition” of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip (basically an overclocked version), combined with up to 24GB of RAM, the 10S Pro is simply a performance monster.
The 5G smartphone scored over 2.7 million points on the AnTuTu Benchmark. The GeekBench 6 scores are also impressive: 3076 single-core CPU points, 9451 multi-core CPU points, and 20,436 GPU OpenCL points. Wild Life Extreme is only enough for REDMAGIC 10S Pro to “heat up” with an Overall Score of 7,063, the temperature only increased from 30 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius.
Continuing to stress test Wilf Life Extreme for 20 minutes, it is evident that the device’s performance drops by approximately 20% – a number that remains quite respectable, considering this is a very demanding test.
In benchmark tests, the high-end Android phone has produced surprisingly high numbers. In tests such as AnTuTu Benchmark, Geekbench, or 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro not only easily surpasses its predecessor, the 10 Pro, but also outperforms more expensive flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
This excellence is reflected in real-world use. In games that support high refresh rates, such as Mortal Kombat Mobile or Dead Cells, the snapdragon smartphone consistently delivers a smooth 120-144 FPS experience. Even with demanding titles like Genshin Impact or Asphalt Legends, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro handles maximum graphics settings effortlessly.
To maintain this peak performance, the ICE-X active cooling system, featuring a 23,000 RPM fan and a large vapor chamber, plays a vital role. Although the gaming smartphone can still get quite warm after long gaming sessions, the phenomenon of performance degradation due to overheating is almost non-existent.
Software and Gaming Experience
REDMAGIC company has made great strides in software optimization. The REDMAGIC OS interface is now cleaner and more closely resembles stock Android, offering a smoother experience for daily tasks. The typical gaming features are encapsulated in Game Space, which can be quickly activated by a red physical lever on the side of the device.
Here, gamers can customize everything, from CPU/GPU performance to fan speed and assigning functions to the pair of ultrasonic trigger keys on the top edge. These trigger keys are extremely sensitive and offer a significant advantage in shooting games, enabling you to move and aim with ease.
However, the software experience still has some problems. The REDMAGIC gaming smartphone still includes some pre-installed applications that users cannot remove. Users also need to manually disable default features such as the camera watermark. Regarding the update policy, REDMAGIC commits to providing 3 years of major Android updates, similar to its predecessor, the REDMAGIC 10 Pro.
Camera and Battery Life
Obviously, the camera is not the top priority on a gaming smartphone. The 10S Pro’s rear camera system includes a 50MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. In bright conditions, the photos are vivid in color and high in contrast. However, the photo quality will decrease significantly in low-light conditions. The 16MP selfie camera hidden under the screen is also sufficient for video calls; however, the photos will be a bit blurry and lack detail.
The photos are well-lit, and the quality is decent, but not particularly impressive or superior to that of today’s mid-range Android phones. If the light is not too low and the hand is steady enough, the photo quality of the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is entirely usable. The selfie camera is the weakest aspect of the REDMAGIC 10S PRO, as it is hidden under the screen.
In return, the REDMAGIC 10S Pro is equipped with a “huge” 7,050mAh battery, significantly larger than most current flagships. With this battery capacity, the RED MAGIC gaming smartphone can easily last a day and a half with high usage intensity. Even when “plowing” games continuously, you can still rest assured to use it for a long day. 80W fast charging also helps to recharge this giant battery quickly. Unfortunately, the device does not support wireless charging.
