Samsung is offering new Galaxy Classic smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 8 and Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic. The Classic version features a significantly different design and includes additional input options. It also boasts a wide range of features. The Watch 8 model is available in various versions, including those with an LTE modem. The casing also features changes.
Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic
The Galaxy Watch8 Classic is a variation of the Galaxy Watch8, featuring significant visual differences. However, the Galaxy Watch8 Classic also offers additional input options. Samsung equips the Galaxy Watch8 Classic with a rotating bezel, letting you navigate through lists, for example, without needing to use the touchscreen. On the right side, there are not just two but three buttons. A plastic collar protects the third round button, which sits between the two more typical buttons, from accidental touches. This button has no fixed assignment; instead, users can use it to access certain functions or launch apps easily.
Unlike the Galaxy Watch8, the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 Classic is available in only one size, with a case measuring 46 x 46 x 10.6 millimeters. Even compared to the Watch8 with its 1.5-inch display and dimensions of 43.7 x 46 x 8.6 millimeters, the Classic version is larger but also thicker and significantly heavier, weighing 63.5 grams instead of 34 grams.
The Galaxy Watch8 Classic also features a smaller display, measuring 1.34 inches diagonally, with a pixel density of 327 PPI and a maximum brightness of 3,000 cd/m². The battery offers a capacity of 445 mAh, which exceeds the typical 435 mAh. Samsung claims it can last up to 40 hours without the always-on display.
The internal storage is larger, measuring 64 GB instead of 32 GB. It also utilizes the Exynos W1000 processor. Like the base version, the watch resists water up to a test pressure of 5 ATM and complies with MIL-STD-810H requirements. It includes a GNSS module, optical sensors, and supports stress level measurements.

The Galaxy Watch8 Classic is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, with shipping expected to commence on July 25. The smartwatch health tracker is available in Bluetooth and LTE versions.

Samsung Galaxy Watch8
Samsung Galaxy Watch8 smartwatch is available in two sizes, including an LTE version. The screen will be 1.3 or 1.5 inches in size, with a pixel density of 327 DPI, regardless of the model. The peak brightness is 3,000 cd/m², which is particularly relevant in direct sunlight. The Galaxy Watch8 is available with or without a cellular modem.
Samsung remains true to its basic design language with the Galaxy Watch8, but the smartwatch is reportedly 11 percent thinner than its predecessor. However, the SoC remains the same: the Exynos W1000. The RAM is 2 GB, and the internal storage offers a capacity of 32 GB. The user interface and operating system is One UI 8 Watch, which also promises an attractive display of truly relevant information; active apps can be displayed in the Now Bar.
A dual-band GNSS module is built into the smartwatch health tracker, which weighs either 30 or 34 grams, allowing it to record distances even during outdoor endurance workouts accurately. Sleep monitoring and oxygen saturation are supposedly possible, and the optical measurement of antioxidant levels in the skin is particularly advertised. However, only the carotenoid content is measurable; for example, ascorbic acid or allicin, which also have antioxidant effects, cannot be detected.
