Taiwan-based manufacturer MSI is listing a new gaming monitor with high refresh rate, the MAG 272QPW X28, which is expected to be one of the more affordable models of its kind. It’s a 26.5-inch QD-OLED monitor with WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), a 280 Hz refresh rate, DisplayHDR True Black 400, and ClearMR 15,000.
In addition to a 0.03 ms grayscale transition, the white screen 1440p promises 10-bit color depth, a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, and a brightness of 250 cd/m² (SDR, 100 percent APL), 450 cd/m² (HDR, 10 percent APL), or 1,000 cd/m² (HDR, 3 percent APL). The MSI advertises 138 percent sRGB, 99 percent DCI-P3, and 98 percent Adobe RGB color space coverage. A Delta E value of less than 2 indicates high color precision.
Adaptive Sync guarantees tear-free gaming sessions. Modern gaming consoles support ALLM and VRR. The new MSI 2560 x 1440 gaming monitor with VRR also includes two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4a port, a headphone jack, and USB-C with DisplayPort Alternate Mode and 15W PD. Ergonomics are solid, with tilt, swivel, height adjustment (110 mm), pivot, VESA mount (100 x 100 mm), and blue light filtering.
To minimize the risk of burn-in, we have the latest MSI OLED Care 2.0, including a fanless custom heatsink. Features or bug fixes can be added at any time via a monitor firmware update function.
