For those with a penchant for ultrawide formats and large screens, LG is introducing a new 49-inch UltraWide gaming monitor soon. The UltraWide 49U950A-W, equipped with a white stand, features Nano-IPS technology and a 3800R curvature. Its DQHD resolution (5120 x 1440 pixels, 32:9) promises plenty of width, as if you were running two WQHD displays side by side.
The maximum refresh rate is 144 Hz, the DCI-P3 coverage is 98 percent, the typical brightness is 400 cd/m², and the contrast ratio is 1000:1. The grayscale transition occurs within 5 ms, which is notably slow for gaming purposes. The advertised HDR10 support is also likely to be relatively weak, as the 49-inch model is only Display HDR 400 certified.
Two internal 10-watt speakers promise solid acoustics. FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync provide anti-tearing features. Given the 1 ms MBR, there’s even a mode for blurring moving images. The 144Hz gaming monitor supports OSD features, including a crosshair overlay, a black stabilizer, and picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes.
The interface selection includes two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, a USB-C port (DP Alt Mode, 90W PD), a USB 3.0 hub, and a headphone jack. Additionally, ergonomic features include tilt, swivel, and height adjustment, along with a VESA mount (100 x 100 mm). Moreover, it offers blue light filtering, flicker-reduced backlighting, and a mode designed for individuals with color vision deficiency.

The new LG 49-inch UltraWide gaming monitor, equipped with a KVM switch, is priced at approximately £1,299.99 by Amazon.co.uk and has yet to announce a release date.
