With the ROG Pelta, Asus offers an interesting gaming headset focusing on the right points. Asus is not trying to impress with an eye-catching design but rather with excellent sound and high-wearing comfort. Let’s find out in the Asus ROG Pelta review!

Asus achieves this using “50 mm ROG Titanium-Plated Diaphragm Drivers” and a remarkably lightweight design. At 309 g, the ROG Pelta is exceptionally light for a wireless gaming headset.
Asus ROG Pelta Review
Design
The Pelta has a relatively simple design that meets Asus ROG standards. The headset has relatively simple ear cups made of matte plastic. Although ASUS couldn’t resist using the illuminated ROG logo, there are no other “oddities” in the design.
The Pelta is ” okay ” regarding build quality and material choice. We have a headset made entirely of plastic.
However, this makes it relatively light. The headset weighs just 309 g, making it one of the lightest wireless gaming headsets on the market.

The Asus ROG Pelta is the lightest at 309 grams when comparing weights. The Razer BlackShark V2 Pro follows closely at 320 grams, while the Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed weighs 345 grams. The Corsair HS80 Max Wireless is the heaviest in this lineup at 352 grams, offering a more substantial feel.
The Pelta has a removable microphone and a battery that should last an impressive 70 hours.
On the ports side, exactly one USB-C port is used to charge the headset.

This USB-C port is installed quite deep in the headset, so only cables with a narrow plug fit here. This is intended to provide strain relief for the port and improve the headset’s durability.
Connectivity
You can connect the ROG Pelta to your PC, smartphone, or games console via USB-C, the included USB wireless receiver, or Bluetooth.
Wearing Comfort
A highlight of the Asus ROG Pelta is its comfort! This is the most comfortable and pleasant wireless headset I’ve ever had on my head.

The headset is nice and light, and the padding is also great! The ROG Pelta has very airy fabric ear pads that are also quite thick.
This keeps your ears pleasantly cool under the headset. Even after wearing it for a long time, I had no problems with sweaty ears. The airy padding also means you don’t feel so sealed off with the headset. It feels more like an open headset. That’s a plus point for me, but that’s a matter of taste.
Overall, I am delighted with the headset’s comfort!
Good Software
Asus offers a pleasingly decent software for the ROG Pelta. It is clear and provides a good range of functions.

You can adjust the sound using an equalizer and various sound effects. Virtual surround sound and settings for reducing the microphone’s noise are also available.

There are also various power settings.
Sound
But it’s not just the comfort that’s a big plus; the ROG Pelta’s sound is also pleasing.
The Asus ROG Pelta delivers an immaculate “HiFi” sound well-suited for music. Asus has not distorted the sound or changed it with a weird EQ.
On the contrary, for a gaming headset, it sounds well-balanced.
The ROG Pelta’s highs are brilliant, clear, and light. Here and there, they tend to be a little sharp, but that doesn’t bother me—on the contrary. This slight sharpness gives the headset a good subjective representation of detail. Acceptable noises are reproduced and not swallowed, which is also a big plus in gaming.

Many gaming headsets boost the mids quite strongly, making them sound tinny, especially when listening to music. This is not the case with the ROG Pelta, which has neutral mids.
On the other hand, the bass is very well-defined, and the headset offers a clean depth. There is a slight bass boost, but the airy ear pads mean the headset is not the “most powerful.” However, it does deliver great bass with the characteristics of an open headphone.
If you prefer more bass, you can activate the bass boost in the ASUS software, which can be adjusted between 0 and 100.
Microphone quality
The microphone quality on wireless headsets varies from absolutely terrible to decent.

The Asus ROG Pelta offers a very clear and clean microphone. Speech intelligibility is excellent. I wouldn’t use it for professional game streaming, but it is sufficient for Discord. The microphone is in the top 20% of wireless headsets I have tested.
Final line
Asus has created a headset that performed very well in the review. Above all, it showed no weaknesses. The sound, comfort, battery life, and software are all equally good. Even the microphone, a weak point in many wireless headsets, is impressive here.
For me, the most significant strength is the comfort. This light and airy headset can be worn for many hours without your ears getting hot – a rare plus point for wireless headsets.
Another advantage is the well-balanced sound. Many gaming headsets are tuned “wildly.” The Asus ROG Pelta, on the other hand, sounds appropriate in all scenarios, whether music or gaming.
It is highly recommended as an all-around headset, not just for gaming. It can be purchased on Amazon for $129.99.
