In March this year, Asus introduced the VU series of office monitors in many colors and beautiful designs. Today, we can get hands-on with one of them, the Asus VU34WCIP-W, at Computex 2025.
Asus continues to launch another VU product line. This one, the ASUS VU34WCIP-W, is a 34-inch 1500R curved monitor with the special feature of integrating the ability to emit nano-ions to improve air quality in the working environment.
Asus VU34WCIP-W Hands-on: First Impression
The Asus VU34WCIP-W looks like a regular office monitor on the outside, but behind it is a device that emits negative ions. These ions can remove up to 90% of airborne dust, improving the air quality around the workspace.
We can completely control this screen’s “air cleaning” ability through the built-in OSD menu. There will be three modes: OFF, ON_ECO, and ECO. Each mode will have an identification sign and a flashing indicator light on the screen.
What’s more special is that this monitor does not need a filter to clean the air. Of course, that’s Asus’s advertisement. This monitor is not a product that can replace existing air purifiers; it only acts as a supporting device. The effectiveness of this feature on the VU34WCIP-W only has an effective operating area of 1 cubic meter, or more precisely, the area right in front of the user.
According to Asus, this special ability allows users to focus more on work because the surrounding air is improved. Does this require an honest test review of the Asus VU34WCIP-W to determine whether what they say is true?

Back to the specs of a monitor, the VU34WCIP-W has a resolution of 3440 x 1440, a 34-inch size with a 21:9 ratio, a 1500R curvature, and a VA panel. Therefore, it has an MPRT response time of only 1 ms. The color depth is 8-bit color, a refresh rate of 100Hz, HDR10 support, and integrated eye protection features.
The VU34WCIP-W’s brightness is 300 cd/square meter, and the average contrast is 3000:1. These are basic numbers for a standard office monitor.
The VU34WCIP-W’s I/O ports include 1 USB-C port with integrated DP Alt mode and one supporting 65W PD, 1 DP 1.4 port, 1 HDMI 2.0 port, and 4 USB-A ports. The Power Consumption is 28.2W. It supports a VESA mount 100 x 100, an integrated Kensington lock, and height adjustment.
