MSI lists a new gaming monitor called the MAG 244C, now available for pre-order. It’s a 23.6-inch VA monitor with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a 180 Hz refresh rate, 1500R curvature, and a 3000:1 contrast ratio. The spec sheet also lists 10-bit color depth ( 8-bit + FRC ), 250 cd/m² brightness, and 105 percent sRGB.
Adaptive-sync support eliminates tearing in games. Furthermore, a dynamic black stabilizer (AI Vision) is available. VRR (“Variable Refresh Rate”) is even possible in the corresponding display mode when connected to modern game consoles. However, you shouldn’t expect miracles from the monitor’s also advertised HDR functionality, as the brightness levels alone aren’t sufficient for a convincing result.
On the connectivity side, the monitor offers HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.2a, and a headphone jack. When it comes to ergonomics, however, you’ll have to make do with tilt adjustment, VESA mounting (100 x 100 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-reduced backlighting. Additionally, a Kensington lock is included for theft protection.
MSI MAG 244C Price and Release Date
The new MSI MAG 244C has no release date, but it is now available for pre-order on Newegg e-shop for $129.99 only.
