Philips 27M1N3500LS WQHD Gaming Monitor with 144 Hz

With the Philips 27M1N3500LS, a new 144Hz gaming monitor is available now in the UK. The widescreen monitor measures 27 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (WQHD) at a maximum 144 Hz refresh rate.

The new Philips monitor promises a 4000:1 contrast ratio, which is achieved using VA panel technology. Furthermore, a 4 ms response time (grey to gray), 250 cd/m² brightness, 8-bit color depth, and 126.5 percent sRGB are promised.

Also on board are two 5-watt speakers and Adaptive-Sync support. Whether the latter comes up with LFC (“Low Framerate Compensation”) is still open. HDR10 is also advertised, but you shouldn’t take it seriously due to the poor brightness performance and the lack of dimming.

On the interface side, there are two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4 and a headphone output. The manufacturer seems to have done without USB ports on the monitor.

The Philips 27M1N3500LS weighs 4.2 kg without the stand and can only be tilted, is mercury-free, and uses 33 watts in operation. A VESA mount (100 x 100 mm) allows the 27 inches to be mounted on a wall. Also, support for a blue light filter and a flicker-free backlight.
