Venus Optics announced the release and start of sales of two more new cinema lenses for the Micro Four Thirds mount: Laowa 6mm T2.1 Zero-D MFT and Laowa 50mm T2.9 Macro APO MFT Cine lenses.

Both new lenses are part of the Laowa Cine line of cinema lenses. The Laowa 6mm T2.1 Zero-D MFT cine lens provides an angle of view equivalent to a 12mm lens on a 35mm full-frame camera, offering a 121.9° angle of view.
According to the manufacturer, both lenses are lightweight and designed for shooting with a minimal body kit along with a handheld stabilizer, or for example, with a drone.

The Laowa 6mm T2.1 Zero-D MFT Cine lens has a 121.9° field of view, which is unique among lenses. In addition, it has a fairly wide maximum aperture of T2.1.
At the same time, the lens has a standard thread for light filters with a diameter of 58 mm. The minimum focusing distance is only 9 centimeters, which, when taking into account the length of the lens, allows you to shoot from a distance of only a couple of centimeters from the subject.
The new Laowa 6mm T2.1 Zero-D MFT Cine is equipped with a standard toothed (mod 0.8) ring for focusing and changing the aperture. Focusing is reported to be smooth.
