7artisans Photoelectric Technology has introduced a version of its inexpensive AF 27mm F2.8 X APS-C lens for the Fujifilm XF mount, previously released for Sony E and Nikon Z.

The new lens has not received any changes in optics and functionality, but its design has become more modern. It is suitable for shooting various subjects, whether portraits, street landscapes, or macro photography. The lens is quite simple but also very budget-friendly—under $130.
You can’t expect an incredible picture here. The optical scheme hasn’t changed—it’s the same as the E/Z variants—and it’s straightforward, consisting of only six elements in five groups. This is probably why the manufacturer didn’t provide separate MTF charts for the Fujifilm mounts.
A quiet, fast, and precise STM drive provides autofocus. The lens supports eye detection focusing. The minimum focusing distance is 30 cm, allowing for close-up shooting.
The AF 27mm F2.8 advantages include a very compact and lightweight design. It will definitely not add much weight to the user’s camera, which beginners should appreciate.
At the same time, the lens’s long service life is assured, thanks to the reliable body with a high-precision bayonet mount made of aircraft aluminum. There is a focus ring, but the aperture can only be adjusted from the camera. The body has a USB Type-C connector for updating the firmware.
