Asus introduces Zenbook Pro 17 with Ryzen 9 6900HX and RTX 3050

At its Pinnacle of the Performance event, Asus showcased the first 17-inch Zenbook Pro 17 powered by the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX and Nvidia RTX 3050. The Asus ZenBook Pro 17 features a 2.5K NanoEdge 165Hz touchscreen IPS panel with Dolby Vision support and is now available to purchase in the country.

Asus Zenbook Pro 17 is a new laptop with a 2.5K IPS NanoEdge display supporting 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, Dolby Vision, touch input, 165 Hz, and is powered by an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and a fast AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. While most people tend to associate the Zenbook series with small and slim laptops, the Zenbook Pro 17 comes with an eponymous 17.3-inch display that is unlikely to be quite as handy.

Inside, Asus relies on an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX, which should ensure good everyday performance with its 8 cores and 16 threads. However, with the built-in Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050, the device should not be suitable for demanding gamers. However, if it is not so important to be able to play the current titles in the highest settings, the built-in GPU could be sufficient.

The Zenbook laptop’s unique selling point on paper is the PANTONE-validated display, which has a resolution of 2.5K and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. The edges of the screen also house an FHD webcam with 3D noise reduction. Up to 32 GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and 2 TB of SSD are offered. Asus’ IceCool Plus thermal system keeps the interior cool.

Asus offers a decent port selection, which includes two USB4 ports and a full-size SD card reader, among others. The 6E Wi-Fi network is available. A 76 Whr battery powers the components.

Price and availability

Asus Zenbook Pro 17 price starts from $999.99, and it can be purchased via Amazon.com and Bhphotovideo.com online stores.
