The Japan Industrial Partners (JIP) has recently announced their plans to return to the US market with a new Vaio Z and Z Canvas hybrid laptop has been under the hood of Sony.
The Vaio Z Canvas is a convertible laptop cum tablet, but it comes with a very powerful configuration with Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, supplied with a detachable keyboard, prices starting from $2,200. As you know Sony has sold Vaio brand to JIP last year, but the Vaio computer still business with some high-end models and investment fund development. Previously, Yoshimi Ota – Executive VAIO JP said that Vaio is still focused on market share rather than profit but the situation is now reversed. He told the WSJ that “We do not like to make a cheap machine for all users.” Vaio currently focused on a number of key markets, and especially the main object of its users will work in the creative industry as designers, photographers.
The Vaio Z Canvas designed for professional users, but the prices are not so pleasant, from $ 2,200 and will be sold in Microsoft Store as well as on the VAIO US website on October 5. Customers can pre-order on May 9. Despite the downward trend of the PC industry, Yoshimi Ota remains confident with new business and predict the company will achieve an operating profit at the end of this year. In addition to PC, Ota also revealed forthcoming plans to expand the Vaio brand, by manufacturing communications devices such as smartphones, accessories, wear equipment, and even automatic machines for industrial use with AI.
