The Duo 16 continues to represent the pinnacle of the Asus ROG Zephyrus line of gaming laptops. With a dual-screen setup consisting of a 16-inch Mini LED panel and a 4K touchscreen that slides out to complement the main screen automatically when the laptop is opened, it is the ideal mobile platform for gamers and content creators.

Depending on the configuration, Asus offers a new 16-inch 2560 x 1600 Mini LED display with 240Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, along with a multitude of certificates such as Dolby Vision, PANTONE, VESADisplayHDR 1000 and TÜV low-blue-light. More “modest” configurations can be equipped with an IPS screen that does not have all the certificates but obtains G-SYNC compatibility instead.

For the 2023 RTX 4090 gaming notebook models, Asus has updated the Duo 16 specs with the latest AMD Zen 4 to a Ryzen 9 7945HX with 16 cores/32 threads and RDNA 3 iGPU capability. The processors are complemented by up to 64 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM, and the PCIe 4.0 NVMe interface supports up to 4 TB of storage space. Thanks to the dual-screen design, the Duo 16 can accommodate high-end dGPU models like the Nvidia RTX 4090 with a maximum TGP of 165W and a MUX switch.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2023) RTX 4090 gaming notebook maintains the design of its predecessor, including the exciting dual display equipment. The 16-inch screen has been upgraded, as the IPS panel with mini-LED backlighting now achieves a refresh rate of 240 Hz instead of the 165 Hz of its predecessor.

The resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels is maintained, as is the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification, which guarantees a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and an overall brightness of at least 600 nits. The so-called ScreenPad Plus can also be found above the keyboard. It is a 14-inch touchscreen in 32:9 format with a resolution of 3,240 x 1,100 pixels.

When opened, this second display is automatically angled, which on the one hand allows a more comfortable viewing angle and on the other hand, creates space for additional ventilation openings.

Asus also installs Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. A keyboard with RGB lighting and four speakers with support for Dolby Atmos is standard equipment. The RTX 4090 gaming notebook is 2.97 centimeters thick and weighs 2.6 kilograms and has a 90 Wh battery. In addition to two USB-C ports, there are also two USB-A, HDMI 2.1, 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet, and a microSD card reader.
