MSI Creator Z16P with vapor chamber, RTX 3080 Ti and 16:10 2.5K touch with pen

MSI Creator Z16P is now the flagship content creation laptop with vapor chamber, Core i9, and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU (16 GB). The MSI Creator laptop has touchscreen support pen input. The lack of Mini LED, OLED, and 4K could have been decided in favor of the battery.

Pen support is also coming to MIS creator model this year, alongside a faster 165Hz 2.5K touchscreen in a content-friendly 16:10 aspect ratio. The pen sticks magnetically to the side of the case and is charged via USB-C. The new MSI Creator laptop covers the DCI-P3 color space and promises DeltaE <2. There are still no 4K or OLED options for the 16-inch model, which probably explains the predecessor’s good battery life.

The CPUs use a maximum of Intel’s Core i9-12900H, together with 64 GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. While the predecessor could operate its RTX 3060 (6 GB) with a maximum of 65 watts in the 15.9 mm thin case. MSI blames the vapor chamber of the Creator Z16P for a performance increase of 70 percent in the 19 mm case and is therefore capable of cooling RTX3080Ti (16 GB), albeit not its full 175 watts. The power supply delivers up to 240 watts here.

The connections include 2x USB-C (1x Thunderbolt 4), 1x USB-A, 1x SD card reader (Express), and HMDI. There are also Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, 1080p camera with quad microphones, a 90 Wh battery, 4x 2W speakers from Dynaudio, and a per-key programmable RGB keyboard from SteelSeries with a 50 percent larger touchpad. The new MSI Creator laptop comes with MSI AI features, “non-P” is also retained with an Alder Lake refresh, similar to the Creator M16.
