Lenovo ThinkPad E490 and E590 Notebooks will Debut at CES 2019

Lenovo will launch the new ThinkPad E490 and ThinkPad E590 notebooks at the CES 2019 in Las Vegas, two products for the budget consumer market that will be joined by the recent Thinkpad L390 and L390 Yoga. As for the ThinkPad L390, the prominent feature of the new Lenovo notebooks will be the upgrade to the Intel Whiskey Lake platform, supported by a slight reinterpretation of the design, much more modern.

Lenovo ThinkPad E490 Specifications

The Lenovo ThinkPad E490 will be the most compact: equipped with the 14.1-inch panel (HD or FHD), has a thickness of about 20 mm; weight, and given dimensions are similar to the Thinkpad E480, should not exceed 1.75Kg. There is a backlit chiclet keyboard on board, red TrackPoint and a large touchpad.

To drive the Lenovo ThinkPad E490 there will be an Intel Whiskey Lake processor (Core i5-8265U or Core i7-8565U), paired with DDR4 RAM, SSD M.2 storage, USB Type-C 3.1 gen1 and option for Radeon RX 550 2GB dedicated graphics. At the moment we do not have details on the official price, variable depending on the configuration; more details will emerge at CES 2019 in a few days.

Lenovo ThinkPad E590 features a 15.6-inch display and therefore far more generous dimensions. A user can also configure the system with Intel Core 8th generation (Whiskey Lake)processors, DDR4 RAM, SSD M.2 with Intel Optane support and optional Radeon RX 550 2GB graphics.
