With the SRS-NB10, Sony has introduced a new neckband loud Bluetooth speaker that is said to be perfect for those who are constantly in video conferences or phone calls at home but who do not want to wear headphones all day long.
Bluetooth Neckband speakers are by no means a new invention, but with the SRS-NB10, Sony has now introduced a new model that is said to be particularly comfortable to wear while offering a few exciting features. According to Sony, the simple, ergonomic design cuts a fine figure in every video conference, while a flexible band on the back ensures the ideal fit for necks of all sizes.
The upward angled broadband loudspeaker is responsible for the best possible sound. On the back, some passive drivers amplify the bass. Since the sound is radiated specifically to the wearer, other people in the same room should not be disturbed. Two directional microphones with beamforming technology, in combination with advanced signal processing, are designed to reduce feedback and echoes to a minimum.
The company notes that due to the special design, the Sony wireless speaker radiates sound exactly towards the user’s ear canals, this allows users to clearly hear music or podcasts even at low volume levels while minimizing distraction.
In addition, the SRS-NB10 can also be used as a speakerphone for conferences – for this, the device has two built-in microphones. The manufacturer also took care of integrating noise cancellation technology into the gadget during voice calls for a more natural-sounding regardless of ambient noise.
The connection to the computer is via Bluetooth, including support for a multipoint connection with up to two devices. Large buttons on the side can be used to control the volume or mute the microphones. When listening to music, these buttons can also be used to start or pause playback. The battery lasts 20 hours and is charged via USB-C. An IPX4 certification protects against sweat and water splashes.
