Seagate One Touch SSD: Portable, Fast storage with USB 3.2 and up to 2TB

Portable SSD and HDD models are ideal mobile storage devices for photographers and film ends who want to create and save large amounts of photos on different recording sets or while traveling, or who want to use them for backups of notebooks, smartphones, and tablets. But the small external solid state drive models with their space-saving dimensions can also be practical for (offline) archiving.

Seagate Technology is now adding new SSD memory drive into its One Touch series, but in a much smaller housing (10.6 mm x 50 mm x 70 mm) and weighing just 74 grams (for comparison, the One Touch HDD measures 11.7 mm x 78 mm x 114.8 mm at 151 g.)

While the various HDDs each have a USB 3.0 interface with a micro-USB-B socket, the faster USB 3.2 Gen 2 with the more versatile USB-C socket is built into the USB SSD. As with the HDD, energy is supplied via the USB interface. Two supplied USB cables – one with a USB-C connector on both sides and one with a classic USB-A connector – enable connection and operation on almost all common computers.

The portable SSD drives in credit card format offer very high read and write speeds of up to 1030 MB/s and up to 2 TB of storage capacity. An elegant aluminum housing and a soft textile element on the sides surround the solid state storage, which will be available in black, silver, and blue – the latter is a light gray-blue. The Seagate One Touch SSD is also shockproof and can withstand falls from heights of up to two meters.

The new Seagate SSD, with its small dimensions and robustness, is the ideal companion for users and content creators who want to save their data quickly and take it with them wherever they go, or who want to edit it from a fast work drive while on the move.

The external solid state drive is compatible with Windows and Mac and uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface with a USB-C connection. This is compatible with USB-C and USB 3.0 as well as older computers – cables are included for both connections. The One Touch SSD can also be used with Android mobile devices. Users can easily transfer their photos, videos, and other files to the SSD using the Seagate Mobile Touch app, thus ensuring more storage space on their smartphone.

Recently, the Crucial X6 Solid State external drive lineup has also been expanded with two more models. It’s a 500GB drive that costs $70 and a 4TB drive that costs $490.
