Asus ROG Strix XG27AQMR gaming monitor with 300 Hz and 600 nits

The latest Asus ROG Strix XG27AQMR gaming monitor combines a 300Hz fast 1440p panel with a backlight that reaches a peak brightness of 600 nits. Together with G-Sync, FreeSync Premium Pro, and ELMB, the screen is said to be perfect for gaming enthusiasts.

Asus has introduced the successor to the ROG Strix XG27AQM (REVIEW), which adds an “R” to the model number and increases the refresh rate from 270 Hz to 300 Hz. This makes the Asus XG27AQMR one of the fastest 27-inch gaming monitors with a 2,560 x 1,440 pixels resolution.

The Fast IPS panel is said to enable a response time of one millisecond. The screen supports both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, so tearing is reduced if a game cannot be displayed at the full 300 frames per second. The Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) function is intended to further reduce streaks. The monitor has a VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, which guarantees a peak brightness of 600 nits and a full-surface brightness of at least 350 nits.

Gaming computers can be connected via one of two HDMI 2.0 ports or DisplayPort 1.4, with the full 300 Hz only being achieved via DisplayPort. The monitor also offers an integrated USB-A hub with two ports, each with a bandwidth of 5 Gbit/s, and a headphone connection. The supplied stand is height-adjustable and equipped with a pivot function for turning the monitor into portrait format.
