One of the highlights of the new lens is its affordable price tag, making it an attractive option for APS-C photographers looking to get into macro photography. The effective focal length of the lens depends on the mount, and on APS-C cameras it is about 90mm, and on Micro Four Thirds cameras it is 120mm.

The lens consists of 11 elements combined in 8 groups and has a diaphragm with nine blades. The optics feature a ribbed manual iris ring, while the lens focus ring has a diamond-shaped knurled texture and focus scale markings, including a depth of field scale.

The macro lens provides a 1:1 magnification with a minimum focusing distance of 17.5 cm.
