Acer has introduced a new member of the Swift series, the Swift X 14 inch laptop. The Acer Swift X offers AMD Ryzen 5 5600U APU options with the NVIDIA RTX 3050 laptop GPU in a thin and light design that weighs 1.39 kg and has a thickness of only 0.7 inches. Acer also announces a battery life of 17 hours for the creation of content on the go.
The 14 inch laptop has the latest 5th generation AMD Ryzen processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 (Ti). You should be able to enjoy most current games in medium to high settings without any problems, which is a rarity in this price range. In addition, the notebook is relatively easy to handle at 1.39 kg and 17.9 mm thick. When it comes to storage, customers receive up to 16 GB RAM, and up to 2x SSDs, each with a capacity of up to 1 TB. The battery is said to last up to 17 hours with its capacity of 59 Whr, whereby one should wait for the first practical reviews with such manufacturer information.
However, the IPS display has a Full HD resolution as usual and, thanks to its thin bezels, has a screen-to-body ratio of 85.7 percent. The panel comes with a brightness of 300 nits and should cover 100 percent of the sRGB color space. These are good, but not outstanding values for the price range. In terms of connectivity, the notebook has a USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI output, and an audio port on the sides. Logging on to the device is simplified by the built-in fingerprint scanner and Windows Hello.
The Acer Swift X SFX14-41G-R0SG weighs 1.39 kg and is only 0.7 inches thick. The device has a 14-inch FHD IPS display with an 85.7% screen-to-body ratio. The screen of the Swift X can cover 100% of the sRGB color space and features Acer BlueLight Shield technology to reduce eye strain. The recently launched RTX 3050 Ti is the driving force behind the image.
The Swift X offers a choice of AMD Ryzen 5000 APU processors that can be paired with 16GB RAM and dual 1TB M.2 SSDs. Acer said the Swift X’s fan is made up of 59 ultra-thin elements, all-metal, and designed to ensure a quiet working experience. The airflow is improved by 5-10% and is further aided by a keyboard design with an air inlet which allows for better heat dissipation of 8-10%. Acer said the keyboard is built to be easily wiped clean from crumbs or dust.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, USB Type-C, HDMI output, 2 USB Type-A ports, and a headphone jack. Acer said the Swift X’s 59 WHr battery can deliver up to 17 hours of battery life.
