The Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop has always stood for the best possible performance per penny, with a starting price of $1,199 and presumably cheap upgrades, the Nitro 5 laptop with Tiger Lake-H and GeForce RTX 3000 offers decent gaming performance.
The Acer Nitro 5 may not be the thinnest, lightest, or most powerful gaming notebook on the market. Instead, the device wants to convince customers with a first-class price-performance ratio. The latest model has Intel’s brand new Tiger Lake-H processors, the top model uses an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070.
The exact configuration of the new base model is not yet known, but the predecessor model was only available with a GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU at a minimal surcharge, so it should be comparatively cheap to equip the Nitro 5 with decent gaming performance. The notebook is optionally available with a 17.3-inch screen to offers a 1080p resolution, a brightness of 300 nits, and a frame rate of 144 Hz with a response time of 3 milliseconds.
The Acer gaming notebook offers a maximum of two M.2 SSDs for a total of up to 2 TB of memory, up to 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, a keyboard with RGB lighting, and a Thunderbolt 4 port – an innovation that is particularly welcome in this price range. There is also a Killer E2600 Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, HDMI 2.0, three USB-A, and two fans for optimal performance under constant load.
