About two years have passed since LG launched its first ultralight notebook named Gram, a solution that has immediate attracts the interest of users and which is currently available in three display sizes: 13, 14 and 15-inches, all based on Intel Kaby Lake platform.
And now the LG Electronics is ready to update its Gram series ultrabooks at the CES 2018 event in Las Vegas that will arrive in a few weeks.
New LG Gram 2018 notebooks will be based on the latest Intel Core 8th generation processors (Kaby Lake R), thus offering solutions based on Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPUs that will significantly increase performance in multitasking, while still maintaining the long-lasting battery life thanks to the TDP of 15W.
In this regard, Chang Ik-hwan, head of LG’s IT business division, declares that the new LG Gram 2018 series has been designed in direct response to those wishing to get an all-round, high-performance laptop with maximum portability. Namely, three models will be coming: LG Gram 13Z980 (13-inch, 963g), LG Gram14Z980 (14-inch, 995g) and LG Gram 15Z950 (15.6-inch, 1095g).
New LG Gram 2018 series will offer SSD storage, fingerprint reader, IPS touch display, multichannel audio and Thunderbolt 3, as well as also passed U.S. military MIL-STD 810G durability tests for resistance to impact, pressure, and temperature. Regarding battery life, LG will use 72Wh batteries that should guarantee one day usage time on a single charge.
Other features of the LG Gram laptops include a backlit keyboard, precision touchpad, webcam, and it also supports DTS Headphone X and 1.5W hi-fi surround sound. The booting time according to the company is said to be under 10 seconds and there is also a secondary SSD storage for more internal storage.
At the moment there are no more details on prices, to learn more we just have to wait for the CES 2018 in Las Vegas (9-12 January 2018).
