The new Zhiyun Gimbal Crane 2S complements the Crane 2 series, consisting of three-axis camera gimbal for professional filmmakers, with its higher payload and size capacity.
With its optimized motors, the Zhiyun-Tech Crane 2S is particularly suitable for larger cameras such as the Blackmagic PCC 6K, Panasonic S1H, or EOS 1DX. A special algorithm guarantees high performance and smoothness even in challenging environments, according to the Zhiyun.
The FlexMount system simplifies the assembly process and protects the equipment with a double safety mechanism. The quick-change bracket with a safety button on the tilt axis enables the user to switch to vertical mounting in next to no time without the need for additional accessories.
The Crane 2S Gimbal stabilizer is based on the classic design of the Crane 2 but offers additional features. The new 0.96 inch OLED display ensures better and clearer navigation through the menu system as well as faster switching between the various modes. The new axis locking system prevents the camera from sliding on the gimbal while driving or storing.
The Crane 2S DSLR gimbal has several attachment points: a 1/4″ thread on the back of the quick-change base plate so that the camera can be moved between different devices such as slide controls and tripods, two 1/4″ threads with a crown wheel and a 3/8″ thread on the camera gimbal for creative adjustments. The TransMount Image Transmitter can be inserted directly on the underside of the quick-change base plate without screws.
Price and availability
The Zhiyun Crane 2S is now available in the Combo Kit for $649, and the gimbal only for $599; and it can be pre-ordered via the Bhphotovideo.com store.
Last month, the Italian brand Manfrotto has introduced a universal camera carbon fiber extension arm for Gimbals named Manfrotto FAST GimBoom Carbon Fiber with 3-axis motorized gimbal stabilizer called Gimbal 220, Gimbal 220 Pro Kit, and Gimbal 460 Pro Kit, which are able to work with DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
