Save $50 on Laowa 100mm f2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO for Pentax K

Venus Optics has introduced new modifications to the Laowa 100mm f2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO full-frame, manual focus macro lens for Pentax K cameras, which is now available at a discounted price.

This optic under the Laowa brand was introduced back in 2018. Then the lens was available with the most popular mounts at that time: Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sony FE. After that (April 2020), the Laowa 100mm F2.8 Ultra Macro APO was released with new Canon RF and Nikon Z mounts (for mirrorless cameras).

The optical design consists of 12 elements in 10 groups, including two ultra-low dispersion (ED) elements, and three extra-low dispersion elements to minimize chromatic aberration throughout the frame. The lens can eliminate both lateral and longitudinal chromatic aberrations in the frame, which means that aberration in both the “in focus” and “out of focus” areas is almost invisible to the naked eye. This lens is capable of a maximum magnification of 2: 1 with a minimum focusing distance of only 17 cm.

Back in March this year, Ricoh has introduced the Pentax K-3 Mark III (Hands-On) camera with prism viewfinder has 100% field of view, around 1.05 times magnification, the 25MP rear-lit BSI sensor in APS-C format, and high-level Light sensitivity of ISO 1,600,000.
