Moto G Stylus 5G with Snapdragon 480, 5,000mAh battery, and More

Motorola has launched a new low-cost 5G smartphone: the Moto G Stylus 5G comes with significant upgrades, such as a newer Snapdragon chipset, a new stylus design, a 5G modem, a much more modern and a larger battery.

Moto G Stylus 5G price

Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G, just months after its second iteration arrived in January 2021 including Moto G Stylus (2021), Moto G Power (2021), Moto G Play (2021), and Motorola One 5G Ace. However, there is a significant upgrade this time around. The Motorola G Stylus 5G now has 5G connectivity. There are a few minor changes here and there as well, which we’ll talk about in a moment.

The Motorola Stylus 5G updates its predecessor’s chipset with an all-new and shiny Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC. Despite its misleading name, the chipset is quite capable and can hit well above its weight class. In addition, Motorola also allows you to configure the smartphone with up to 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Motorola has also provided a micro SD card slot. Motorola has also increased the battery capacity of the Moto 5G Stylus to 5,000 mAh, but it only charges at 10W. The stylus also has a clicker similar to that of the Galaxy Note, but it lacks advanced features like navigation control due to the lack of Bluetooth LE.

Probably the biggest innovation is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC, which not only has an integrated 5G modem, but also two very modern ARM Cortex-A77 computing cores with clock frequencies of up to 2.0 GHz, which in combination with six economical Cortex-A55 offer better performance than its predecessor, in which the older Snapdragon 665 was installed.

Everything else about the Moto Stylus 5G is identical to its LTE counterpart, including the camera layout and screen resolution. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.8-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution. A high refresh rate screen would have been ideal, given its asking price. The rear camera includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra wide angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. A 16MP sensor supports selfies and video calls. Finally, Motorola has integrated a fingerprint on the back for biometric authentication.

The 16-megapixel selfie camera sits in a punch hole in the upper left corner of the screen. The Moto G Stylus 5G offers a headphone jack, Android 11, and a fingerprint sensor on the back.

Moto G Stylus 5G price and availability

The Moto G Stylus 5G 256GB Unlocked variant now available to buy via the Bhphotovideo.com website for a suggested retail price of $399.99. The device comes in Cosmic Emerald color. Despite its slightly steep prices, this is a great 5G smartphone for people on a budget and it will compete with offerings from Samsung and Xiaomi.
