Samsung expands the Odyssey family of gaming monitors originally announced during the CES 2020 in Las Vegas with a very interesting new ultra-wide model. The new model in the Samsung Odyssey G5 series is the Samsung C34G55T, a product that is part of the cheaper Samsung G5 line.

Samsung C34G55T is a 34-inch monitor that uses a VA panel with 1000R curvature, a solution that should better adapt to the human eye ensuring an immersive user experience without straining the eyes too much even with rather long gaming sessions.
The Samsung G5 Odyssey monitor offers a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and has a refresh rate that can reach 165 Hz with support for AMD FreeSync Premium technology; performance is also guaranteed by a response time of 1ms (MPRT) and a series of features that make the product particularly responsive, including Low Input Lag Mode and Refresh Rate Optimizer.

The Samsung monitor curved VA panel is an 8-bit with 2500: 1 native contrast, a shame instead for the brightness that only reaches 250 cd/m2, this despite Samsung proposes it as an HDR10 display. As for the I/O department, we find HDMI and Display Port connections in addition to the classic audio jack.
Price and availability
Samsung Odyssey G5 C34G55T has been priced at $599 and is now available to pre-order on the Bhphotovideo.com website.
Still in the Samsung Odyssey context, an alternative could be represented by the 27 and 32 inch computer of the same G5 series, pricing starts from $229 on Amazon and Bhphotovideo stores.
