With the new Reloop Ready, the Münster-based manufacturer Reloop shows that DJ controller gear does not have to be huge and expensive and still has a lot on board for creative DJ performance.
This is a portable 2-channel DJ controller that is specially developed for SeratoDJ and iOS. It combines an integrated audio interface, jog wheels, a 2-channel mixer, and 16 RGB performance pads in a compact space. The DJ controllers measure just 325 mm x 48 mm x 220 mm, weighing just 1.4 kg, and also fit on a 13-inch laptop, so that nothing should stand in the way of track preparation on the go.
Reloop installs a 24 bit / 48 kHz audio interface in the Ready. Other features include tone controls and filters, as well as loop and effects controllers. The developers have positioned the pitch faders for manual beat matching between the jog wheel and equalizers, which is probably due to the extremely compact form factor. Headphone and master outputs, along with the rules, are located on the right outside, which in turn makes it flush with the laptop. As far as the MIDI control options are concerned, the Ready can also be said to have a high feature density (streaming, performance modes, scratch bank, FX control, etc.).
In addition to Serato DJ Pro, the DJ controller is also a solution for Algoriddim Djay software, because it has a switch on the back to indicate whether a computer or tablet should act as the host. Smartphone, tablet, or computer – the choice is yours.
