Razer has made its entry into the fiercely competitive market of professional earbuds in-ear monitors, aiming to deliver unmatched passive noise isolation, exceptional comfort, and premium sound. This is made possible through the combination of a dynamic driver and a balanced armature driver.
The all-new Razer Moray professional in-ear monitor headphones directly challenge the Sennheiser IE 200 (approx. $120 / £129 on Amazon). Razer presents an intriguing set of features with these headphones. They have designed a glossy, ergonomically shaped case that ensures optimum comfort even during long sessions.
To provide convenience to users, Razer has incorporated a braided 1.6-meter cable with a memory loop sleeve. This allows the cable to be positioned behind the ear cup, keeping it out of the way. Additionally, the MMCX standard enables easy replacement of the cable in case of any defects. Razer combines a balanced armature driver for crisp highs with a dynamic driver that delivers deep bass and powerful mids. However, Razer has not shared specific details about the in-ear monitors’ studio tuning. Therefore, it is advisable to try them out before making a purchase.
Razer claims that the THX certification ensures clear voice reproduction among other benefits. Although professional in-ear monitors do not feature active noise cancellation, they are reported to passively reduce ambient noise by 36 dB. Razer specifies a sensitivity of 106 dB at an impedance of 32 ohms, allowing the earphones to be used with most standard 3.5 mm headphone jacks without any issues. The package includes a carrying case and three sizes of silicone and memory foam ear tips.
