Signa S2 is the new soundbar of Polk Audio. This model was born as an improvement of Signa S1 and comes with a compact design as well as reduced in size.
The measurements are 89.99 (L) x 5.46 (A) x 8.18 (P) cm. Inside there are two 2.54 cm tweeters and two 3.12 x 11.18 cm oval midrange. The low frequencies are instead entrusted to an external wireless subwoofer. The unit measures 17.07 x 34.04 x 30.99 cm and diffuses the sound through a 13.34 cm woofer.
The specifications report a frequency response between 45 Hz and 20 kHz. Polk Audio Signa S2 is compatible with Dolby Digital 5.1 and features three EQ modes, including “Movies”, “Music” and “Night”. The Voice Adjust function, on the other hand, serves to improve the intelligibility of the dialogues. The connectivity offers an HDMI port with ARC (the audio return channel), Bluetooth, an optical digital input and an analog input on 3.5 mm jack.
With just one single-cable connection, thanks to CEC, the control of the soundbar via TV remote control and the audio playback of the apps integrated into the Smart TV, such as Netflix or YouTube, can be realized. Dolby Digital decoder and Virtual Surround technology are integrated. Other codecs like DTS or Dolby Digital + are missing.
Polk Audio Signa S2 soundbar with wireless subwoofer has been priced at $199.95 and is available on Amazon.
