Panasonic MZ1500 Smart 4K OLED TV with Dolby Vision IQ

Panasonic, a Japanese company, has listed the upcoming MZ1500 series of 4K OLED TV models on its French website, set for release later this year. Although official product pages were briefly online and subsequently taken down, we managed to retrieve them from the Google cache, allowing us to provide some details about the upcoming products. It’s worth noting that certain aspects may still change before the official release.

The Panasonic MZ1500 series plans three sizes: 48, 55, and 65 inches, all offering 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) with a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz. It features dynamic HDR formats, including Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+ Adaptive, across the board.

While the 48-inch model boasts a classic OLED panel and is equipped with two 15-watt speakers, the larger 55 and 65-inch models feature Master OLED Pro and an additional 20-watt subwoofer. All models now support Dolby Atmos.

The operating system is Panasonic’s proprietary My Home Screen in the current version 8.0, complemented by an HCX Pro AI providing the necessary computing power to enhance image quality using AI algorithms.

For an optimal gaming experience, the new True Game Mode incorporates color accuracy features from movies into the gaming realm. Enhanced HDR Tone Mapping ensures source-oriented expression from gaming devices. True Game Mode is calibratable, displaying the Calman Calibrated logo after adjustment with Portrait Displays’ Calman Color calibration software.

Gamers will appreciate not only 4K at 120 Hz but also features like ALLM, VRR, FreeSync Premium, and G-Sync compatibility. The interface selection includes Bluetooth, CI+, HbbTV, HDMI 2.1 (with eARC), RJ-45, S/PDIF, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, WLAN, and a tuner for DVB-C/-S2/-T2. The Panasonic MZ1500 series comes with an integrated Chromecast.

Currently, the Panasonic TX-55MZ1500E 4K OLED TV is listed on Amazon.co.uk for £2,845.90. Further details on the 48 and 65-inch variants are not available at the moment.

Panasonic has also recently introduced the CMZ50, an ultra-short-throw laser projector with a unique feature: it can project an 80-inch image with up to 5,200 lumens of brightness from a distance of just 1 cm from the screen. The projector features an LCD with a native resolution of WUXGA (1920 x 1200) and supports widescreen resolutions of 2,560 x 1,080 pixels (21:9) and 3,240 x 1,080 pixels (27:9). With a dynamic contrast ratio of 3,000,000:1, the Panasonic CMZ50 ultra-short-throw laser projector is available for $6,999.
