Nokton 50mm F1 Apherical RF lens for Canon mirrorless cameras

Cosina has unveiled the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm F1 Aspherical RF lens, specifically designed for the Canon mirrorless camera system. Originally showcased at CP+ 2023 event earlier in the year, this lens marks Cosina’s inaugural offering with an RF mount and electronic contacts.

Boasting a manual focus mechanism with an all-metal helical design, the lens ensures seamless focusing. Tailored to modern mirrorless cameras, this Voigtlander Nokton 50mm F1 Aspherical RF version is optimized for Canon EOS R system cameras, aligning with the sensor characteristics of the system.

The aperture ring features a built-in click-on/off mechanism, and the focus ring’s rotation direction mirrors that of Canon lenses. Lens-to-body communication, EXIF, in-body stabilization, focus magnification, focus peaking, and focus guide are supported by most bodies.

Noteworthy as the fastest full-frame Voigtlander lens from Cosina, it is already available for Leica M and Nikon Z camera systems.

Price and availability

The Voigtlander Nokton 50mm F1 Aspherical RF lens is currently purchasable on Amazon.com, with an anticipated price of around $1,799. The package includes a lens hood.
