Cosina has presented a new super-fast Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1.0 Aspherical VM lens for cameras with a Leica M mount.
Let me remind you that there are two Voigtlander Nokton lenses with a focal length of 50 mm. We are talking about the Nokton 50mm F1.2 and Nokton 50mm F1.5 lenses, and even earlier the Nokton 50mm F1.1 lens was produced, but now it is out of production.
Traditionally, like all Voigtlander Nokton lenses, this Aspherical lens will also have exclusively manual focusing. The lens body is made of metal and with a large number of optical elements made of specialized glass.
Like other models, the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm f1.0 Aspherical VM will be quite heavy due to the metal in the body construction, as well as the traditionally expensive lens.
The wide f/1.0 aperture lends a dreamlike quality to images. Its 12 blades provide a smooth, circular look, and sharpness is maintained throughout its focus and aperture range. With robust, all-metal construction and classic black finish, this lens still maintains a compact form factor that does not obscure most view viewfinders.
Price and availability
The recommended retail price of the new lens is $1,799 and is already available to pre-order on the Bhphotovideo.com website.
