Sharp NEC Display Solutions has announced the new MultiSync WD551 Windows collaboration display. The 55-inch touch screen monitor with webcam has an IPS panel with 4K – resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) at 60 Hz and PCAP touch functionality with ten touch points.
Touch operation can be done with fingers as well as with passive or active input pens. The Microsoft Teams-certified model, which is designed for 16/7 operation, has an IP5X-protected front, comes with remote control, and has a webcam in the upper edge of the display.
You don’t have to do without an internal microphone and two integrated 12-watt speakers (including a 15-watt subwoofer). The contrast ratio of the IPS panel is 1200: 1, the color depth 10 bits, the response time 8 ms (gray to gray), and the brightness is 400 cd/m².
The choice of interfaces includes HDMI, RJ-45, RS232, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, and USB-C with 65-watt power delivery. The NEC MultiSync WD551 touch display has an anti-reflective coating, weighs 31.2 kg without a stand, and is 155 watts in eco mode. Various built-in IoT sensors (presence, ambient light, temperature, etc.) support energy-saving projects and smart building concepts. A VESA mount (400 x 200 mm) allows the touch monitor to be wall-mounted.
Price and availability
The Bhphotovideo.com store is now selling the 55-inch touch screen monitor with webcam for $6,299. The manufacturer grants a three-year guarantee, which can optionally be extended to up to five years.

Recently, NEC Display has also made available the two MultiSync-C series large-format LED screen panels C750Q (75 inches) and C860Q (86 inches). The LED display screen models are virtually identical except for the diagonal: both have an IPS panel with 4K – resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), a maximum refresh rate of 60 Hz, 10-bit color depth, 1200: 1 contrast ratio, 8 ms response time (gray to gray) and 350 cd/m² brightness.
