Motorola Moto G Stylus 2023 brings the retractable stylus at affordable price

With the Moto G Stylus 2023, Motorola presents a relatively inexpensive mid-range smartphone that is equipped with a 90 Hz display that can be operated with the included stylus. With a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera and a 5,000 mAh battery, the device promises solid equipment.

Motorola unveiled the latest generation of the Moto G Stylus. The new cell phone has an IPS panel with a diagonal of 6.5 inches and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, but it only offers a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels. The curve radius of the panel’s corners also doesn’t quite match the curve radius of the case, making the screen bezels appear even thicker.

The feature of the Motorola Moto G Stylus 2023 is the included stylus, which can be stowed directly in the housing – a rarity in modern smartphones, at least apart from the expensive Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (approx. $999 / £1,399 on Amazon).

The 3.5 mm headphone jack has also become a real rarity. The Moto G Stylus 2023 has a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged with up to 15 watts via USB-C. The 8 MP front camera sits in a tiny punch hole, while the rear houses the 50 MP f/1.8 main camera and a 2 MP macro camera.

Videos can only be recorded in 1080p resolution at up to 30 frames per second, for which the somewhat outdated MediaTek Helio G85 is likely to be responsible. The ARM chip has two Cortex-A75 performance cores with clock speeds of up to 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz. Motorola also installs 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of flash memory, which can be expanded with a microSD memory card.

Price and release date

The Motorola Moto G Stylus 2023 will be available in the US on May 5th for a suggested retail price of $199.99. It is already available for pre-order on Amazon.com in Midnight Blue and Glam Pink color options.
