MSI, the Taiwanese company, has recently added a new gaming monitor with a refresh rate of up to 170 Hz and HDR support to its lineup. The G272QPF is a 27-inch IPS panel monitor with a WQHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels). Despite having a typical brightness of 300 cd/m² and no dimming zones, the HDR performance is not convincing.
According to the specifications of the MSI G272QPF, it has a 1ms GTG response time, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and a 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC). The monitor also covers 120.22 percent sRGB, 92.83 percent DCI-P3, and 91.18 percent Adobe RGB. Thanks to the G-Sync compatible Adaptive Sync, tearing in games can be avoided. The black stabilizer feature can brighten up dark areas in games.
The OSD is operated using a five-way joystick. The monitor’s interface includes two HDMI 2.0b inputs (WQHD at max. 144 Hz), a DisplayPort 1.2a (WQHD at max. 170 Hz), and a headphone output.
The MSI G272QPF is also ergonomic, with rotation, tilt, height adjustment, pivot, VESA mount (75 x 75 mm), blue light filtering, and a flicker-free backlight. The monitor weighs 3.8 kg without the stand and measures 613.04 x 368.84 x 58.89 mm (W x H x D).

Currently, the MSI G272QPF 170 Hz gaming monitor is available on Amazon.co.uk for £298.99. Additionally, MSI recently launched a budget gaming ultrawide monitor, the G32C4X, with a VA panel, Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), 250 Hz refresh rate, 1500 R curvature, and HDR support. The ultra-wide HDR monitor has a contrast ratio of 3000:1, a brightness of 300 cd/m², and a 10-bit color depth (8 bits + FRC). The monitor is priced at £330.39.
