Laowa 12-24mm F5.6 zoom lens for Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Leica M

Venus Optics has unveiled the Laowa 12-24mm F5.6 wide angle zoom lens for full-frame cameras: Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and Leica M mounts. The zoom lens offers an angle of view of 84-121.9°, a fixed aperture of f/5.6, manual focus, and a minimum focusing distance of 15cm.

The Laowa 12-24mm F5.6 manual focus lens is compact in size and weight and competitively priced. The lens is available for Canon RF, Sony E, Nikon Z, and Leica M mounts. The angle of view varies from 84 to 121.9°, the f/5.6 aperture remains constant at all focal lengths, and the aperture has 5 blades, which provide stars with 10 rays.

The minimum focusing distance is only 15 cm, which allows you to take close-up shots with a very peculiar perspective. The lens comes with an adapter ring that allows you to install filters with a diameter of 77 mm, this ring can act as a kind of small lens hood.

Depending on the chosen mount, the length of the lens varies from 84 mm (Leica M) to 95.6 mm (Nikon Z), it weighs 497 g.

The optical design consists of 15 elements in 11 groups, including 2 aspherical elements and 3 ED (extra-low dispersion) elements, which are designed to combat various kinds of distortion and reduce chromatic aberration. Frog-Eye Coating (FEC) lens technology provides protection against water and dust.
