Forerunner 965: Garmin’s new premium smartwatch price and availability

After numerous leaks and speculations, it’s official: There is a Garmin Forerunner 965. The smartwatch is equipped with an AMOLED display, is waterproof, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass DX.

It’s not a surprise, but it’s now official: With the Forerunner 965, Garmin will soon be launching a new smartwatch, with which the company is targeting ambitious athletes. There are no major changes compared to the previously unofficially communicated technical data. The Forerunner 965 is equipped with a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen, which also offers an always-on display mode. The resolution is 454 x 454 pixels, operation is also possible via touch.

The Forerunner 965, which was previously only available on the Japanese Garmin site, will now be offered in three versions, with the housing available in black and white. When in smartwatch mode, the battery is expected to last up to 23 days. The 32 GB of memory can store locally stored music, as well as map materials. If you listen to music and track your position during a training session, the battery life may decrease to just under 8.5 hours in the worst-case scenario.

Both heart rate and oxygen saturation measurements are supported, and the measurement of stress levels is planned. As is typical of Garmin, the sports functions go far beyond just recording sports activities. For instance, the state of recovery can be displayed, and the use of adapted training plans should be possible.

The Forerunner 965 is currently listed on the Adorama.com online shop for $599.99 and will be available in Yellow with Black, White with Grey, and Black color version.
