JBL’s new best Dolby Atmos sound bar packs impressive specs, including four upward-firing drivers for Dolby Atmos surround sound, a wireless subwoofer, and two detachable wireless surround speakers.
At first glance, the JBL Bar 1000 boasts an unobtrusive design, with one notable exception: the two ends of the soundbar can be detached and utilized as wireless surround speakers. With both satellites containing their battery, viewers can enjoy movies with genuine surround sound without having to worry about additional cables.
The new best Dolby Atmos sound bar has a total of seven front-facing and four upward-facing speakers, in conjunction with Dolby Atmos or DTS:X, the aim is to achieve the most spatial sound possible. PureVoice technology uses a special algorithm to enhance dialogue. The sound can be customized via the accompanying JBL One app, which also offers access to music streaming services and other settings.
It is also possible to stream music wirelessly to the soundbar via Alexa Multi-Room Music, Apple AirPlay 2, or Google Chromecast. JBL includes a wireless subwoofer with a 250-millimeter woofer. The output power of the entire system is 880 watts. If you can be satisfied with five forward and two upward drivers and an output power of 720 watts, the JBL Bar 800 is a cheaper soundbar that otherwise offers almost the same range of functions.

The JBL Bar 1000 Dolby Atmos DTS:X soundbar is currently sold on the Amazon.com store for a recommended retail price of $1,199.95.
