Blu has launched a two new Android-powered rugged smartphones under its Xtreme series, named Tank Xtreme 5.0 and Tank Xtreme 4.0. Supposedly “designed for durability”, the Blu Tank Xtreme 5.0 will hit the shelves in USA at $127.95, and the Blu Tank Xtreme 4.0 is priced at $71.29. Details of availability of both devices were not revealed.
The Tank Xtreme 5.0 and Tank Xtreme 4.0 smartphones, as per its listing on the Amazon online store, feature a IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, and has been drop-tested for a height of 180cm. Both devices have a dual injection shock absorbent frame that serves as a cushion and absorbs the impact. Both Blu rugged smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and for the connectivity options, both include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, 3.5 mm audio jack.
This is what a thing is equal in the both devices, but let us discuss what is the difference in both Blu rugged smartphones. Starting with the Blu Tank Xtreme 5.0, features a 5.0-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS LCD display along with 294ppi. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with Mali-400 GPU and 1GB of RAM.
This Rugged Android Smartphone phone bears 8GB of inbuilt storage (with a support for microSD card up to 64GB) and features a 5-megapixel rear autofocus camera with dual LED flash and 5-megapixel front-facing snapper for selfie and video calling. The Tank Xtreme 5.0 packs a 3220mAh battery, measuring 153.5 x 79.8 x 13.8 mm and weighs 181 grams.
Blu Tank Xtreme 4.0, on the other hand, features a 4.0-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) IPS LCD display along with 233ppi. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with Mali-400 GPU and 512MB of RAM.
This Small Rugged Smartphone bears 4GB of inbuilt storage (with a support for microSD card up to 64GB) and features a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie and video calling. The Tank Xtreme 4.0 packs a 2800mAh battery, measuring 130 x 69 x 13.9 mm and weighs 141 grams.
