Australian company Blackmagic Design has updated its ATEM Mini HDMI live stream switcher with the launch of the ATEM Mini Pro. The Pro model has a number of additional features relative to its predecessor.
Like the Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini HDMI live stream switcher, the ATEM Mini Pro model has received support for many popular platforms and specialized programs, including Open Broadcaster, XSplit Broadcaster, YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Skype, Zoom, Twitch, Periscope, Livestream and Wirecast.
In addition to the functionality of the younger Blackmagic ATEM Mini, the ATEM Mini Pro device allows you to record in H.264 to USB flash drives, and also provides streaming via the Ethernet port on YouTube Live and other platforms. The multi-window monitoring mode supports working with four cameras, media, pre-viewed and program signals, and for saving, streaming, and sound, a status display is provided.
The audio switcher cum mixer allows you to prepare material for online broadcasts on the YouTube platform or for Skype or Zoom. Mixers provide connectivity to four image sources, which may include cameras, a computer with PowerPoint slides (presentation), or a game console. To create a picture in picture and a number of other effects, there is a built-in DVE processor.
In addition, inputs for the desktop and lapel microphones are provided. Two independent stereo inputs of 3.5 mm format also allow you to connect additional equipment. Changing the image can be done using a simple switch (CUT) or using various transitions (AUTO), among which there is not only the usual “dissolve”, but also mix transitions, digital effects with built-in wipe patterns and built-in Digital Video Effects.
To start showing on YouTube, Facebook or Twitch, just select the platform with the server and enter the key. The ATEM Software Control application contains tabs for setting relevant parameters and streaming control, the status of which is also displayed in multi-window monitoring mode.
