Sennheiser IE600 Audiophile Headphones with Aerospace Materials

After introducing the HD 400 PRO headphones (REVIEW) in December last year, designed for audio/video editing professionals, Sennheiser has unveiled its new IE600 best audiophile headphones, a premium model that goes between IE 300 and IE 900 (REVIEW) and which continues in the tradition of wired solutions that characterizes this line-up.

The IE 600 earphones promise great performance combined with the adoption of engineering solutions of the highest level which, as we will see shortly, add value to both the build quality and the sound quality.

As for the construction solutions adopted, IE 600 is based on the 3D printing process that sees the use of amorphous zirconium ZR01 for housing. It is a metal known in aerospace use whose atomic structure is similar to that of glass and allows a hardness and a resistance to bending three times compared to steel.

It is enough to know that the drill of the Perseverance rover, currently on Mars, uses a drilling head made with this material. According to Sennheiser, the use of amorphous zirconium will guarantee longer life and greater resistance to corrosion and scratches.

Let’s move on to the innovative solutions designed by Sennheiser to improve sound quality, which pass through the use of a transducer called Trueresponder with a single 7 mm driver. The smaller size compared to other similar models improves the reproduction of the highs, but in order not to lose bass as a logical consequence of the smaller size of the driver, Sennheiser has introduced rear resonance chambers (two compared to the three of IE 900) at the position of the driver in the body. Thanks to them Sennheiser makes it known that the resonances are limited, and the bass benefits greatly, but without obscuring the mid-high frequencies which are clear and full-bodied.

There is no shortage of other constructive goodies such as the gold-plated MMCX connectors encased in their case for greater stability, with support for cables with a diameter of 4.8 mm or less, which allow you to connect a wide range of audio sources, including components with balanced outputs. Sennheiser IE 600 are sold with two types of cables, 3.5mm and 4.4mm, as well as several silicone and memory foam adapters to fit any ear.

Sennheiser IE600 price and availability

As you may have guessed, this is not an economic model, Sennheiser IE600 best audiophile headphones is available to buy on the Bhphotovideo.com and Adorama.com websites.
