Blackmagic Design launches ATEM Television Studio 4K8 Ultra HD Video Production Switcher

Blackmagic Design has officially introduced the ATEM Television Studio 4K8 Ultra HD video production switcher that supports the needs of 2160p60 high-quality streaming and comes with a 12G-SDI input/output protocol that allows connection to a variety of peripheral devices. The 4K video production switcher is also equipped with 4 10G Ethernet ports that support the simultaneous plugging of stream decks, talkback devices, and network storage drives full for a professional content creation space.

Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio 4K8 is integrated with 8 inputs and 10 12G-SDI outputs to support today’s most popular livestream devices, as well as audio/video recording and editing devices. The live multi camera switching device is designed to combine the form of a switch and control panel with intuitive keys that can switch image sources, and add transition effects or professional movie effects. The keys are machined similarly to other Blackmagic Design ATEM models to ensure a quick and easy user experience, suitable for both media professionals and semi-professional/professional content creators.

The surface of the production switcher 4K, in addition to the control keys, also has an audio/video mixer with an LCD screen that displays the scale in real-time. The 8 SDI inputs of ATEM Television Studio 4K8 can be connected to multiple cameras at the same time to switch different shooting angles during the live stream. All image sources will be synchronized to the device and converted into a standard image format.

Users can also choose transition effects when switching between cameras, or choose picture-in-picture mode to display multiple cameras at the same time. Users can also select a separate channel to save titles or images to insert into the video (in another image channel) during the live stream, then use a separate image channel to display the finished video.

This new 4K video production switcher comes with an additional joystick dedicated to the dubbing mode, allowing precise alignment of the nested image position above the main video. To ensure always the highest picture quality, the image sources will be processed by ATEM Television Studio 4K8 with separate alpha-channel (for the effect of transparency between image layers). It supports animations with a maximum total frame rate of 800 frames (720HD quality), 400 frames (1080HD quality), and 200 frames (2160 UHD quality).

4K video production switcher has good support for presentation-oriented content and has many green screen effects, supports 4 ATEM Advanced Chroma Keyers modes to choose the main color, background color, and image layer distribution, helping users create more eye-catching videos for their content.

Connectors include eight 12G-SDI inputs with separate quality converters, allowing images to be received and converted directly from the source into a common format that Television Studio 4K8 is capable of handling. 10 12G-SDI output ports, including 1 special standard 12G-SDI port and 1 port HDMI, will allow simultaneous connection to a video output or video processing devices. A special standard 12G-SDI port and HDMI port are also used for multiview setups.

ATEM Television Studio 4K8 has a built-in Fairlight audio mixer that supports audio processing from SDI inputs, as well as multi-channel XLR, RCA, and MADI sources. Each input is also equipped with a 6-band EQ, compressor, limiter, expander, noise gate, and level/pan-control, which can be customized using the onboard audio mixer control interface.

Multiview mode allows displaying 16 sources at the same time and can live to stream directly from popular social networking platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch… Users are supported with high-quality live streams by personal computers via Ethernet connection or smartphone using a 4G network.

ATEM Television Studio 4K8 uses a USB connection to emulate a webcam device, from which it is compatible and allows recording and editing on any software. It can also record directly to a network hard drive or a portable hard drive and it also allows you to upgrade more internal memory with an M.2 SSD. Image content is recorded in H.264/AAC format to ensure that the file size is not too high.
