Akai Professional releases EWI Solo, the first standalone Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI) with many game modes, special sound content, and built-in speakers.
When EMI Solo is an electronic wind instrument, which should be suitable for each performance scenario by traditional according to the manufacturer, it combines the musical expressiveness and control of acoustic instruments with the versatility of an electronic instrument and modern mobility.
A uniqueness in EWI Solo is the integrated loudspeaker, the aim of which is a natural sound reproduction of the available sound supply. In combination with the internal, rechargeable lithium-ion battery with over twelve hours of uninterrupted playing time, EWI Solo should be suitable for long rehearsals as well as for spontaneous inserts.
EWI Solo offers 200 integrated sounds for performing, which should react to the most subtle play. From luscious evolving synth pads to an authentic sultry jazz clarinet, every genre is catered for with an expertly curated catalog of sounds, which are brought to life with a special mouthpiece with air pressure level and contact sensors with sensitive response and control over volume and pitch dynamics. In addition, there are dedicated effect controls for adding reverb, delay, and chorus, as well as editing options for pitch, tuning, and dual LFOs.
EWI Solo is prepared for any application, so the wide variety of connection options should allow a wide variety of situations and areas of application to be mastered. There is a USB MIDI connection for the use of software instruments, a 6.3 mm output for connecting directly to a PA system, and a headphone output for practicing and playing at any time of the day. A music player, which provides a backing track to which you can play, should also be able to be connected via the 3.5 mm aux input.
Wood and brass players do not have to learn any new fingerings at EWI Solo. The EWI Solo’s interface can be switched to flute, oboe, saxophone, and EVI (Electronic Valve Instrument) fingering modes.

Akai Professional EWI SOLO Electronic Wind with USB MIDI interface has been priced at $499 and is now available to buy via the Amazon.com website.
