Fitbit has given its popular Fitbit Versa smartwatch an upgrade and also presented a new Fitbit Sense smartwatch model that, in addition to an EKG, also brings exciting features, such as the ability to measure the wearer’s skin temperature or track stress.
Along with the announcement of the Fitbit Inspire 2 fitness band, the new high-end smartwatches are finally official. Fitbit wants to justify the higher price with new health and fitness features, above all an electrocardiogram (EKG), which is not yet activated in European territories at the start, as well as a sensor that measures the temperature of the wearer’s skin while sleeping, for example, to be able to detect a fever. The user’s sleep can also be tracked again, including the Fitbit-typical sleep rating and an integrated sleep phase alarm clock.
Both the Fitbit Versa 3 and the Sense have a battery life of around six days, and a charge of just twelve minutes should last for a whole day. Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant have integrated as well as hundreds of watch faces and apps, and if the smartwatches are connected to an Android smartphone, you can respond to incoming messages directly by voice.
The 1.58-inch display with a resolution of 336 x 336 pixels offers a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, which can be automatically controlled by an ambient light sensor, an always-on function is also included. The Fitbit Sense will be delivered from the end of September at a recommended retail price of $329.95 on Amazon.com, and Bestbuy.com websites.
The Fitbit Versa 3, on the other hand, costs $229.95 and pre-orders are now possible via Amazon.com and Bestbuy.com websites.
