LG 32UN550P 32-inch 4K monitor with HDR and FreeSync

LG has released a new 4K monitor, the 32UN550P, to replace the 32UN550-W, which was launched in 2020. Although the new LG 4K monitor has similar features, it uses less energy and has a better EU energy efficiency rating of class F, compared to the class G of its predecessor. In SDR mode, the new 32 inch LG 4K monitor consumes 32 watts of power, while it uses 52 watts in HDR mode, which remains unchanged from the previous model.

The new LG 4K monitor has a built-in VA panel that measures 31.5 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at a 60 Hz refresh rate. It is also HDR10 compatible, although it has a low brightness of 350 cd/m² and no dimming zone, which limits its HDR capabilities. The 32 inch LG 4K monitor offers a color depth of 10 bits, a contrast ratio of 3000:1, a 90 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, and a response time of 4 ms (grey to grey).

The monitor comes with two HDMI 2.0 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone output, as well as two speakers with MaxxAudio. It also has a flicker-reduced backlight, FreeSync (without LFC), and a black stabilizer. The 32 inch LG 4K monitor can be tilted and adjusted in height, and it has a white back that weighs 6.7 kg without the stand. Its dimensions are 714.3 x 420 x 45.7 mm (W x H x D).

The LG 32UN550P-W is available on Amazon.co.uk for £409. Lenovo has also recently introduced a new 4K monitor, the D32u-40, with a VA panel display that costs £271.76. The 32-inch monitor offers a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and is ideal for video and image editing, as well as gaming.
