Sharp Aquos Xx3 Mini with 21MP Camera, Snapdragon 617 Launched

Sharp has unveiled the latest smartphone in its Aquos lineup in Japan, the Sharp Aquos Xx3 Mini. Pricing of the device still unknown, and will become available for purchase next year.

Like it did with the Aquos Xx3, Sharp has given the Aquos Xx3 mini colorful polycarbonate back surface design, and a metal frame uni-body with shiny effect. The device features 4.7-inch Sharp IGZO display alongside Full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution that can convey a higher pixel density of 469ppi.

The handset is powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 SoC is accompanies a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor. It comes with 3GB of RAM which implies it will be more proficient for multitasking and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded via microSD card.

The Sharp Aquos Xx3 Mini flaunts a 21-megapixel primary autofocus camera with f/1.9 aperture, PDAF, face detection, panorama, HDR and LED flash. It can shoot Full HD (1080p) video at 30 frames per second. There is an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with front LED flash to capture bright selfie and sharp video calling.

The Sharp Aquos Xx3 will run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and a 2400mAh battery out of the box. On the connectivity front, includes 4G FDD LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, Micro USB 2.0 and 3.5mm audio jack options. It measures 135 x 67 x 8.6 mm and weighs 135 grams.

Back in July this year, Sharp has announced Aquos P1 in Taiwan, one of the flagship device from the company with Snapdragon 820 CPU, 3GB RAM; 5.3-inch IGZO Full HD display; 2.5D curved glass; S-PureLED technology; 22MP rear and 5MP front camera; supports a 3000mAh battery; water and dust repellent body, IP55 / 58 certifications and the side-face fingerprint sensor. The Sharp Aquos P1 price in Taiwan will be set at NT$20,990 – approximately $648 USD.
