Samsung has released a new video to show the 3D Cinema LED. The Korean brand has worked to ensure a level of brightness in 3D (worn glasses) comparable to what you perceive during 2D viewing.
It was also a new algorithm that aims to eliminate crosstalk, the phenomenon that is created when the frames addressed to an eye (which should remain completely separate) are superimposed with those addressed to the other. In these cases, the user does not perceive a clear and convincing 3D effect but sees images with double outlines that are rather annoying.
Samsung claims that the new features have completely eliminated the phenomenon for the 3D Cinema LED.
Samsung points out strongly on the MicroLED display named “The Wall Professional” and 3D Cinema LED were introduced at ISE 2018.
MicroLED display is a very interesting technology. The pixels of the displays are composed of triplets of microscopic RGB LEDs. This type of display no longer uses a backlight or color filters: it is a “self-emitting” technology, just like OLEDs. The light is emitted directly from the LEDs. Therefore, it is possible to offer very high brightness and absolute blacks, as the LEDs corresponding to the individual pixels can be switched off.
The Wall Professional is nothing more than the professional version of the prototype shown at CES 2018. So we talk about modular displays that can be assembled in various ways, with diagonals that may be lower or higher than the 146-inches presented last month in Las Vegas. The maximum brightness is 1,600 cd/m2 – nits.
The Wall Professional builds upon its consumer counterpart with the integration of Samsung’s MagicInfo content management platform. Within MagicInfo, users can create, schedule and deploy content across a single Wall Professional display or Wall Professional display network from any location. The platform also provides complete display performance visibility for immediate error detection and troubleshooting.
Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said:
“By upgrading to powerful LED displays that blend into all professional environments without space or size restrictions, businesses can deliver a next-level content experience that captivates audiences and ultimately translates to significant growth. The Wall Professional is just one component of our broad ISE 2018 lineup that offers futuristic solutions to emerging operational challenges, and we look forward to sharing our vision for what’s next with our customers, partners and peers at this one-of-a-kind pro AV and electronics forum.”
3D Cinema LED is instead the 3D version of MicroLED displays developed for cinemas. So let’s talk about screens with 4K resolution and HDR compatible. For the 3D vision, we use the appropriate glasses, benefiting from the high brightness guaranteed by these products.
